Here at Bali Body, we hold a firm belief in keeping the footprint we leave on the planet as small as it can possibly be.

From the way our products are manufactured, through to how your orders are packed and how surplus materials are handled, there are many avenues open to us for lightening that footprint.

We are pleased to share the steps already put in place, and we will keep searching for fresh ways to lower our impact.

Product Packaging

Every bottle and tube that holds a Bali Body formula can be recycled. Our brand new Personal Care range, Bali Body Essentials, arrives in bottles made from 100% recycled material, and they are recyclable too.

Manufacturing Processes

Listed here are a few of the environmentally conscious practices applied while Bali Body products are made:

  • Every off-cut and leftover material gets sorted right at the site into recyclable, cardboard or general waste streams.
  • An interceptor traps all solid matter carried by water run off before it can reach the waste water system, and a specialised contractor removes that solid matter each month for proper disposal.
  • Liquid waste that qualifies as ‘grey water’ has its pH corrected and its temperature made safe prior to release.
  • Equipment is washed down without aggressive chemicals — only water at high pressure and high temperature is used.
  • Every light in the production facility runs on a timer, so nothing stays on while the area is unused.

Single Use
Shipping Materials

In order to cut down on waste and the reliance on single use materials, every order we send out is now packed exclusively with recyclable options. Those include cardboard cartons, craft paper filler and paper shipping labels, so not a single piece of throwaway plastic enters our fulfilment process.

Shipping

We rely on several distribution centres spread across the world so that the carbon footprint of fulfilling each order stays as low as it possibly can. Having a partner warehouse in every major market means your parcel covers a far shorter distance, which translates into fewer fossil fuels burned along the way.

Vegan and
Cruelty Free

Bali Body carries the Leaping Bunny approval and is 100% cruelty-free – animals are never used for testing at any point of product development. Over 98% of the range is completely vegan, the single exception being responsibly-sourced beeswax found in one of our high SPF sunscreens.

Philanthropy

Giving back to the community is a value the team here at Bali Body genuinely lives by, and it has sat at the core of the brand ever since we were established in 2014.

More recently Bali Body has been able to hand over more than $400,000 worth of Essentials personal care products to charities right around the globe, among them organisations in Australia, the United Kingdom, Europe and the United States.

Bali Body is an Australian-owned business, started and run by husband & wife duo David & Laura Oosterloo back in 2014. As the brand took off, the rise in demand brought plenty of invitations to produce overseas, yet every one of our products has stayed made in Australia, and that will not change.

Producing at home puts value back into our own community and economy, and keeps us working side by side with our suppliers, so Bali Body can hold every batch to a high standard and keep our processes kind to the environment.
